# Connect WhatsApp to Guhan AI for Mobile Prospect Outreach

> Add WhatsApp to your Guhan outreach mix to reach prospects on mobile. Available on Scale plan and above, with add-on accounts available for lower tiers.

WhatsApp outreach is purpose-built for markets where WhatsApp is the dominant channel for professional communication — including South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. In these regions, prospects are far more likely to read and respond to a WhatsApp message than an email or LinkedIn DM. Guhan can include WhatsApp as part of a multi-channel sequence, sending personalized messages that are timed to your prospect's engagement signals and tailored to their research brief.

## WhatsApp message types

Guhan sends three categories of message across a WhatsApp outreach sequence:

<CardGroup cols={3}>
  <Card title="First-Touch Message" icon="hand-wave" href="/agent/outreach">
    A short, personalized opening message based on Guhan's research brief for that prospect. References their role, company, or a relevant trigger event to feel human and relevant — never a copy-paste blast.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Follow-ups" icon="arrow-right" href="/agent/follow-ups">
    Up to 3 follow-up messages spaced across the sequence. Each follow-up takes a different angle — adding value, asking a question, or referencing new context — rather than repeating the original message.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Booking Link" icon="calendar" href="/integrations/calendar">
    When a prospect replies positively, Guhan detects the intent and sends your calendar booking link automatically, capturing the meeting before the prospect goes cold.

## WhatsApp compliance

WhatsApp has strict policies against bulk unsolicited messaging. Numbers that receive high complaint rates are restricted or permanently banned — and unlike email, a banned WhatsApp number cannot easily be replaced.

<Warning>
  Only message prospects who have a professional relationship context or who have consented to receiving outreach. Avoid bulk unsolicited messaging — WhatsApp may ban numbers that receive high complaint rates. Guhan limits WhatsApp messages to ICP-matched prospects only, but you are responsible for ensuring your outreach is appropriate for your target market and jurisdiction.
</Warning>

To stay compliant:

* **Target ICP-matched prospects only.** Guhan's default behavior restricts WhatsApp sends to prospects that match your configured Ideal Customer Profile.
* **Respect opt-outs.** If a prospect replies asking to stop receiving messages, Guhan marks them as opted out and halts further WhatsApp outreach immediately.
* **Check local regulations.** Some jurisdictions have specific rules around unsolicited commercial messaging on consumer platforms. Verify that WhatsApp outreach is permitted in the markets you're targeting.

<Tip>
  WhatsApp works best as a secondary channel. Use LinkedIn or Email as the primary touchpoint and WhatsApp as a follow-up for unresponsive prospects in markets where WhatsApp is the dominant communication platform.
