The steps
1
A search finds profiles
A search or signal returns candidate profiles. Each profile returned is charged (see What you pay for).
2
Your filters are applied
Every Who fits rule you set must match: job title, seniority, location, industry, company HQ, headcount. Guhan also removes anyone who works at a competitor, anyone on your Do Not Contact list (or whose company is), and anything that turns out to be a company page rather than a person. Rules that need profile or company details trigger enrichment first, so a rule is never skipped just because data was missing.
3
Duplicates are skipped
A person Guhan already has in your workspace is not added again, even if a different source finds them.
4
Guhan researches and rates them
Guhan writes a short research brief and gives the prospect a fit rating: Strong fit, Moderate fit or Weak fit. Until that finishes, it reads Pending….
5
They are added to the List
The prospect appears in the List. A Campaign that uses the List as its audience can then start messaging them. See Build a Campaign.
What you pay for
- 1 credit per profile returned by a search or signal.
- Some signals add a company charge; see the signal catalog.
- CSV uploads and manual adds do not use credits for finding prospects.
- Enrichment, research briefs and contact reveals are separate. See Enrichment for the list.
- If your credits run out partway through a run, the remaining profiles are rejected and not added. Add credits to keep going; see Plans and credits.
The fit rating
The fit rating is Guhan’s assessment of how well a person matches what you sell. You see it as a colored label in the Fit score column of your prospect tables. It is based on their profile, their company, the signal that found them, your Brand & Voice and your Products.
A small 1 to 10 score appears next to the tier on the prospect’s page. A Weak fit is still added to your List; the rating helps you decide who to work first. Sort the table by Fit score to see the strongest first.
If you have more than one Product, the prospect’s Research tab shows a separate rating and reason for each.
The research brief and the fit rating come from the same step. If you turn off Generate research brief + fit score in enrichment settings, prospects are added without a fit rating.
Research brief
The brief is a short write-up about the person and their company, with a suggested angle for outreach. It is written when the prospect is added and appears on the prospect’s Research tab. Use Regenerate brief on the prospect’s page if their situation changed. Regenerating costs 1 credit, refunded if it fails. Why someone was not added
Rejected profiles are kept so you can see why:- Sources tab on the List → watch history: each watch shows Landed, Rejected and In flight (Landed means added to your List), with a reason per rejected profile.
- Prospects page → filter → Include pipeline-rejected: people Guhan found but filtered out show with status Rejected. Open one to read the reason.
If Guhan keeps rejecting people you expected, one of your rules is stricter than you meant. See Reviewing prospects.
